Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Carbon-12. By adding the bot or using the dashboard, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Carbon-12 (the "Service") is operated by Cody Gordon, an individual based in Wisconsin, USA ("we", "us", "our"). The Service is a Discord bot, web dashboard, and public roster tracker for Star Citizen organizations.

2. Eligibility

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement and follow Discord's Terms of Service. If you add the bot to a server or configure it, you confirm you have authority to do so for that server.

3. Accounts and access

Signing in to the dashboard uses Discord login. We read your roles in a server to decide what you can manage. Server owners and admins control who has access by assigning roles. We act on instructions from the users a server has authorized.

4. Acceptable use

Use the Service lawfully. Do not abuse, overload, probe, or disrupt it; do not reverse-engineer or resell it without permission; and do not use it to harass others or to store unlawful content. You are responsible for the content your org creates through the Service, including notices, names, and ledger entries.

5. In-game economy

The treasury, "bank," and any aUEC figures track the in-game Star Citizen currency only. aUEC has no real-world value, is not money, and Carbon-12 provides no financial, banking, payment, or money-transmission service of any kind.

6. Trial, plans, and billing

New orgs get a 14-day free trial with full features. Where paid plans apply, fees are billed in advance for the period you choose, and any payment is handled by a third-party processor. You can cancel at any time and keep access through the end of a period you have already paid for. We do not sell in-game currency or game items.

7. Third-party services

The Service runs on and integrates with third parties, including Discord, our hosting and database providers, Anthropic (for optional AI features), and UEXcorp (trade data). Your use is also subject to those parties' terms.

8. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uptime, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim or fifty US dollars.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and remove the bot from your server at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above when we do, and continued use means you accept the update.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin.
